Every year, instead of a traditional New Year’s resolution, I come up with a bucket list of things I want to accomplish that year.  These were my resolutions for 2012 here.  More often than not I get a little too ambitious and I don’t do all the things on my list.  One of the things that I’m most proud of doing last year was being really active everyday.  Not in the sense of exercising but not being lazy and wasting time watching tv or sitting at home on the couch.  For the week, I would make plans to visit a new place, try a new restaurant, take a class, learn something new or see a cool art exhibit.  My resolution last year was to be an active participant in my life and to really take advantage of living in the city which led to other resolutions throughout the year like living with gratitude, taking advantage of every opportunity that comes my way, and savoring every moment.  This might seem easy for some people but it was very difficult for me especially living in such a fast paced city.  The photo above is of me last year taking a moment to appreciate the beauty of cherry blossoms in Central Park.  I’m going to continue these resolutions this year and a couple of more that I thought up.  What are your resolutions?

  1. Eat more veggies
  2. Venture out to the other boroughs more…Bronx, Brooklyn, and Queens
  3. Learn how to meditate
  4. Not only help random strangers but help my friends and family more
  5. Pick up playing the piano again
  6. Surfing take II
  7. Doing more things out of my comfort zone like dining alone (read here)
  8. Visit a city in the South. I’m thinking Austin, TX or Charleston, SC
