My Favorite Workout

People always ask me “How do you eat everything but stay in such good shape?” My answer is always Physique 57. I discovered this magical workout from my co-worker/co-conspirator/best girlfriend 2 years ago. She told me that it changed her body and that you will get addicted. When she described the workout as ballet barre, I was conjuring up images of tutus and prancing around in tights. Well, I was dead wrong and during my first class, I cried. I have never experienced so much pain in my entire life BUT it was really fun and they played hip hop…not your typical ballet. To sum it up, it’s a 57 minute class that starts with a short warm up, 15 minutes each on arms, legs, seat, and abs followed by stretching. It’s fast and there are not many breaks. If you fake it, they will notice so you better bring it or else they will call you out. The instructors are very friendly, helpful, and so damn upbeat and cheery. Your legs will literally feel like they’re falling off and your instructor will be smiling and cheering you on…”10 more to the change!” and you can’t help but smile back at them in pain. What I love about this place is that the physique you’re going for is not waify or thin but strong and ripped while maintaining a sumptuous rump. They really cater to the working girl by offering classes all day from 6 AM – 8 PM. After 2 years, I have never been so ripped in my life. I get many compliments on my firm derriere, which has NEVER happened before. It’s also a fun workout. Do you really want to be running on a treadmill in a sweaty gym for an hour like a gerbil? I didn’t think so.
