I’ll find any excuse to drink prosecco. A birthday? Check! A bad day? Yes please! Yesterday, I wanted my glass of prosecco kicked up a notch so I created this prosecco cocktail. I love cocktails with fruit in it like sangria so the alcohol gets soaked into the fruit. This cocktail has a similar purpose with my favorite summer flavors basil, lemon, and raspberries. You could add vodka or limoncello (an Italian lemon liqueur) to the cocktail as well but for me personally, the prosecco was enough. You could also add mint instead of basil or blueberries instead of raspberries. I’m notorious for drinking prosecco on every occasion and I can’t think of a better cocktail to celebrate and to toast the end of Summer.
You will need: A bottle of prosecco, basil, raspberries, and 1 lemon. I take a few basil leaves and put it into a tall glass.
I put a couple of raspberries into the glass and slice a lemon.
Squeeze the juice of half a lemon. Muddle all the ingredients.
Popping the bubbly! I never knew you could make an ugly face while opening a bottle.
Pour some prosecco into the glass. Once the bubbles settle, pour the drink into the champagne glass.
Top the glass off with a little more prosecco. Cheers! XO
