My Favorite Smoothie Recipes

favoritesmoothiesWhen I started this blog, I just wanted a creative outlet but now, it’s evolved into so much more.  Ultimately, I want this blog to be about appreciating your life and to strive to be the best you can be.  To surround yourself with positive people and to do the things that inspire you.  Most importantly, having a fabulous life doesn’t require a lot of money or fame.  With a little creativity and being resourceful, you can have a beautiful life too.  To become the best ME, one of the biggest priorities I’ve made is to eat better.  My favorite way to start the day is to have a smoothie for breakfast.  It’s a fast and healthy option for the gal-on-the-go.  Below are my favorite recipes which I’m starting to think need better names.  All you need is a blender and try to buy all organic ingredients.  Just remember, the best thing you can do for yourself is to start with yourself.

Blueberry Protein

  • 8 – 12 ounces of unsweetened almond milk
  • 1/3 cup frozen blueberries (I like my smoothies thick)
  • Whey protein powder (this one’s my fave BioChem)
  • Progreens powder (like this one)
  • 1 – 2 tablespoons ground flax seeds

Frozen Banana Almond

  • 8 – 12 ounces of unsweetened almond milk
  • 1 frozen banana
  • 1 tablespoon of almond butter
  • 1 tablespoon of honey or agave nectar
  • 1/4 teaspoon of cinnamon

Green Juice

  • 8 ounces of coconut water
  • Handful of spinach or lacinto kale
  • 1 apple
  • 1/4 cup cucumber slices
  • 3 – 4 sprigs of mint
  • 1/2 lime juice
  • I happen to like the pulp but if you don’t, you can strain the juice.

Blueberry Mango

  • 8 ounces of coconut water
  • 1/2 mango
  • 1/4 cup frozen or fresh blueberries
  • 1 tablespoon of agave nectar
