I am a big fan of theme nights for dinners. Yes, I’m that cheesy. Our household favorite is “Greek” night with lamb burgers, greek salad, and homemade tzatziki. The dinner is healthy, easy to make, and very delicious. Last time, I decided to kick it up a notch with green harissa which is a salsa made of chiles. I found the green harissa recipe from the September issue of Food & Wine magazine. For the lamb burgers, I make them the same way I would make a beef burger but sometimes I add feta cheese. Some people I know (not naming names!) don’t like the flavor of lamb but I think it’s incredibly flavorful without all the fat. Please do not buy tzatziki from the store! It’s so easy to make and you can really taste the difference between the one from the store and one that’s homemade. I use this recipe a lot to make tzatziki (here). The green harissa gave the meal a nice kick which was lacking in previous dinners. Instead of serving the lamb burgers on buns, I found whole wheat naan at Trader Joe’s, gotta love that place! OPA!
