A Roast of Anthony Bourdain

Last night, my boyfriend got us tickets to a roast of Anthony Bourdain hosted by Mario Batali and Willie Geist and catered by Michael White.  Um, can we say my perfect night?  The roast was a part of the Food and Wine Festival benefiting the Food Bank of New York City and Share Our Strength.  It was a memorable night in a stunning setting on Chelsea Piers with views of the Hudson River.  The night started with cocktail hour and then we moved to a large dining room for the dinner and roast.  I could barely eat my dinner because I was hysterically laughing the entire time.  I never knew how funny Willie Giest was!  I had a soft spot for Mario Batali and Rachael Ray because they were getting hit the most all night.  Anthony Bourdain didn’t seem to mind the roasting since he’s been infamous for his caustic words towards other television food personalities.  I think pay back was over due.  My favorite part of the night was hanging out at the Big Gay Ice Cream truck after the roast.  Eric Ripert asked me what flavor he should get and I promptly replied, “The Salty Pimp.”
