DIY: Rhinestone Friendship Bracelet

After I made these friendship bracelets (seen here), I wanted to embellish some of them.  I did some research online and stumbled upon this great tutorial from HonestlyWTF.  Now, I’m obsessed with this site.  I love their easy DIY projects and this blog made my creativity go wild.  You really can make anything if you put your mind to it.  The rhinestone friendship bracelet turned out to be really easy and only took me 10 minutes to make.  The best part of this project was that I went to M&J Trimming in New York City to buy the rhinestone chain and discovered my new favorite place.

You will need:

  • 1 chevron friendship bracelet (tutorial found here)
  • 5-6″ crystal rhinestone chain
  • 1 yard of sewing thread (I used this instead of embroidery thread since I didn’t have an embroidery needle)
  • Sewing needle
  • Scissors

Thread the needle and double knot it at the end. Align the rhinestone chain along the middle of the bracelet using the chevron pattern as your guide. Start by pushing the needle through the back of the bracelet.

Stitch between the rhinestone links. From right to left then left to right, bringing the needle through the middle of the bracelet.

Continue stitching the rhinestone chain working all the way down the bracelet. When you get to the end, tie a double knot on the back of the bracelet and trim the thread.
