{Organic Acquerello Risotto at the Boathouse in Central Park}

The first week of summer was definitely a scorcher in nyc.  I’ve been trying to do everything imaginable to stay cool.  The week started off with a lunch date at the Boathouse in Central Park.  In all my years of living here, I’ve never actually dined at the Boathouse.  I think of that episode in Sex and the City when Carrie meets Big at the Boathouse and she falls into the pond.  The Boathouse is just as romantic as I thought it would be.  I always equate a restaurant with a beautiful setting as having subpar food but surprisingly, the food was delicious.  The service was also spot on.  I was also proved wrong when I visited Georgetown Cupcakes in Soho which just opened.  I was convinced that the cupcakes would be all hype since the owners have a show on TLC.  The red velvet cupcake was one of the best I’ve ever had.  It was super moist and it had the perfect cake to icing ratio.  The bakery is right up my alley with cake stands adorned with beautiful cupcakes, pink boxes lining the walls and a hot pink rhinestoned Kitchen Aid mixer.  It’s so cute inside I want to live there.  The weather was not keeping Miss Buttercup inside!
