On Saturday, my family came into the city to take me out to dinner for my birthday. The only thing that I wanted to eat was pho (pronounced like fuh). Pho is a Vietnamese soup consisting of broth, rice noodles, beef and herbs. I ordered the large with everything. Yes, that includes all the bits of the animal that you wouldn’t imagine eating but they make the most beautiful broth. It was so good and so comforting; exactly what I was craving. Pho Grand is located on Grand Street in Chinatown. I love restaurants like these because there are no ruffles or frills. The decor is not fancy what-so-ever and everything on the menu is cheap. It’s really about the food. Another reason why I love NYC is that you can “travel” to Vietnam without even leaving the country.
