NYC, Restaurants

Chinatown

Every time I go to Chinatown in New York, I feel like I’m getting off the subway to China.  It’s one of the bigger neighborhoods in downtown Manhattan and it’s bustling with sights, sounds, smells, people, and food stands.  I just love walking through Chinatown and popping in and out of random stores.  There are stores that only sell dried mushrooms.  I’m talking wall-to-wall of apothecary jars of just mushrooms!  I always stop by the fruit stands to see what kinds of exotic fruits they have that Whole Foods doesn’t.  On this trip, I decided to buy a dragon fruit-why not right?  My favorite way to end a Chinatown trip is to get a homemade ice cream at the Chinatown Ice Cream Factory.  I love this place because they have so many exotic flavors that you don’t find anywhere else.  Chinatown always invigorates my senses and it’s one of those neighborhoods in New York City that is a source of inspiration.  This is my scrapbook of my day in Chinatown.
