My Favorite Meal of the Year

Thanksgiving is my favorite meal of the year.  I spend weeks before hand to buy the ingredients, do research, find recipes, and overall prep.  People always ask me if making Thanksgiving stresses me out.  The only reason it does stress me out is because I’m a perfectionist and I want everything to be perfect but otherwise, I love making Thanksgiving dinner.  This year, I decided to brine the turkey with the Pioneer Woman’s recipe here.  The turkey had great flavor and was incredibly juicy.  I also made the classics: cranberry sauce, stuffing (not stuffed in the bird), and pumpkin pie.  My sister made the sweet potatoes and green bean casserole.  I made a 16 lb bird for the 5 of us because we always fight for the dark meat.  This year was no different.  My boyfriend and my mom were literally fighting for the dark meat on the thighs.  I can’t believe another Thanksgiving is gone but there’s a week’s worth of leftovers to eat!
