Last weekend I had the chance to get out of the city and take a drive up to Orange and Rockland counties (very close to where I grew up). I could not believe how gorgeous it looked. All the trees were ablaze in yellows, oranges and reds. The leaves were peaked and it was the perfect time to experience Fall in New York. I had one of those perfect Fall days. My sister took me to Applewood Orchards in Warwick, New York to go apple and pumpkin picking. We drove through acres and acres of farm land to get there. You wouldn’t believe that you were only 1 hour from nyc. We were a little late for pumpkin picking but we had our obligatory hot apple cider and apple cider donut. Applewood orchards also has a winery where they hold tastings. My sister and I loved their original hard apple cider which they make on the premises with the apples from the orchard. If you haven’t gone leaf peeping yet you must go, it’s one of those essential things to do in the Fall.
