I fell head over heels in love with New Orleans.  Maybe it’s because I’m a Francophile or because I’m a major foodie.  I’m not sure the exact reason but I loved everything about it: the architecture, the people who were the nicest people I’ve ever met, the food, and the live music.  During my trip, I learned 2 very important things: 1) It’s called New Awlins not New Or-leans and 2) Southern hospitality is for real.  I’m already planning to go back next year!  But for now, here are some of my favorite places and things in New Orleans…

 {Beads on a gas lamp on Royal Street}

 {Beignets from Cafe Du Monde}

 {Saint Louis Cathedral in Jackson Square}

 {The hippie in me wanted one}

 {Live jazz at Preservation Hall}

 {Carousel bar at Hotel Monteleone-it really moves!}

 {Wrought iron gates in the Garden District}

 {Soft shell crab benedict at Stanley}

 {French Quarter}

{Lafayette Cemetery No. 1}

 {Fried shrimp po’ boy from K Paul’s Louisiana Kitchen}

 {Confetti cake gelato at Sucre}

 {French Quarter balconies}
